Workplace Incest is consensual sex among several employees. Since the work environment is like a family then sexual bonding lines can become blurred. There are two types of sexual incest which are employer employee sex and peer sex. (Farrell, 1993, p. 298)
Scenario: Tim and Mary are both law clerks at a prestigious law firm. One night after working late they decide to grab a few drinks to unwind. After a few too many drinks they go home with each other and have sex. Tim and Mary have just engaged in peer sex that is a form of sexual incest.
Ending Thoughts: Sexual Incest has a negative impact on a company because it can leave employees feeling vulnerable. Other employees who are not involved in the sexual relationship may feel left out or discriminated against. Sexual relationships should not be encourages amongst employees, especially since it can negatively impact the work environment for all the employees who work together. (Farrell, 1993, p. 298-299)
